The Bihar Gyandeep Portal 2024 serves as a platform to assist in the enrolment of disadvantaged children in private schools as mandated by the Right to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act. Families can submit their applications online for the admission of economically challenged students at no cost until June 16. This portal is designed to promote transparency and combat arbitrary admission procedures, with the verification process set to take place between June 20 and June 30.

Section 12(2) of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act delineates the procedure for compensating Private Unaided Schools for enrolling students under Section 12(1)(c). This compensation is determined based on the per-child expenses specified by the State or the actual fees levied by the school, whichever amount is lower. The reimbursement is designed to cover the costs associated with 25% admissions in private unaided schools under Section 12(1)(c) of the RTE Act and has been administered through Samagra Shiksha since the fiscal year 2014-15 (previously under SSA).

Selection criteria will be determined based on the applications submitted, aligning with the guidelines detailed in Office Number 505 issued on June 15, 2023.
