Recently, each Department has issued a detailed directive regarding the Purchase and Reimbursement of 7th CPC Briefcase Allowance for the fiscal year 2024. This directive elaborates on the eligibility criteria for the 7th CPC Briefcase Allowance applicable to both officers and staff within every Department. The purchasing rates have been carefully established to correspond with the pay matrix levels of the individuals involved.
It’s crucial to understand that while officers are granted the freedom to choose and buy an eligible product at their preferred price from any showroom, the reimbursement amount is fixed and cannot be altered. Officers can only claim this reimbursement after they have submitted their claims within the specified timeframe.
Revised Rates of Briefcase Allowance 2024
Under the existing guidelines, members of this Department can claim reimbursement for acquiring a 7th CPC Briefcase Allowance, office bag, or women’s purse every three years, starting from the date they last received one. Recently, the relevant authority has revised the financial limits for these reimbursements to better assist employees in meeting their professional requirements.

An officer or official can buy a Briefcase, Office Bag, or Ladies Purse on their own. They should submit the original receipt to the General Administration Branch, confirming that the item has been acquired.
